Like all table grapes, Cardinal variety is healthy. It provides B-group vitamins and is rich in vitamin B6, which is important for the nervous system. It contains beta-carotene, a precursor of vitamin A, which helps vision and protects mucous membranes. It is also a great natural antioxidant.
The size of the Cardinal grape cluster is really large. The length of a bunch can be estimated between 19 and 28 centimeters, and the width ranges from 13 to 19 centimeters. However, at the same time, the mass of the cluster is relatively small, only between 342-510 grams on average. Although sometimes there are clusters of about 900 grams.
Its suitability as a table grape is good. It is highly appreciated in regional markets due to its early maturity and color. The ripening period is not too prolonged. Productive tasks include early shoot thinning, wrapping, and arranging shoots and clusters. Prior to flowering, cluster thinning should be performed, leaving one or two per shoot, but it will depend on the vigor of the shoot and the plant, as well as topping off clusters when about a third is removed and the upper wing.
The grapes achieve excellent color. It is important to mention that they are very resistant to transportation, without damaging or losing attractiveness, and to cold storage, which is estimated to be around 90 days.
In this type of grapes, large berry sizes and a beautiful appearance are observed, and professional tasters estimate their flavor at 8-9 points. The Cardinal variety stands out for its high yield indicators and optimal conditions for agricultural production.
